What is a "part number"?
A part number is a code the uniquely identifies an inventory item. The purpose of this code is to help us refer to that specific item without knowing additional information such as manufacturing machine, machine brand, inventory part size etc.
What is keyboard layout?
A keyboard layout is a specific arrangement of keys on a keyboard. Different languages and regions often use different keyboard layouts to account for differences in character sets and typing habits. Common keyboard layouts in the English-speaking world include the QWERTY layout and the Dvorak Simplified Keyboard layout.
Standard QWERTY keyboard layout
The most common (and most standard keyboard layout and form) is US(ANSI) — short for the American Standard. There are also EU/UK(ISO) and JA/JP, which are the European and Japanese standards and forms.
We’ll focus on US and EU, as these are the ones found in the United States and Europe.
There are two big differences to note with these layouts. On the US keyboard, the enter key is more of a wide rectangle , but on the EU keyboard, it’s an upside-down L-shape 
. Then, with the backslash key, US keyboards have it sitting above the enter key, but it’s to the left of the enter key on EU keyboards.
How can I find the laptop keyboard part number?
There are several different layouts of laptop keyboards. To determine what laptop keyboard partnumber you have, remove the keyboard from the laptop and look at the back of the keyboard.
